Concept LA Fashion Week – Fall 2011: B. Scott

Brandon Scott, the designer behind the menswear line B.Scott, is a San Francisco State University graduate, who in his senior year won the award for ‘Most Remarkable Designer.’ Afterwards he interned for the Nice Collective, where he eventually became a design assistant, and worked for Rebecca Beeson where he was head of design, production and sales. Building off his experience he launched his own namesake collection in 2009, fusing German and Japanese aesthetics. B.Scott, while influenced by his past experiences, has created a line that is entirely his own vision with unique and interesting design lines.

During Concept LA fashion week Brandon showcased his latest F/W collection for 2011 to much acclaim and praise. Using stocking caps to hide the model’s faces he created a negative space that forced viewers to concentrate on the details of his street-chic clothes. As a writer who mainly focuses on women’s fashions I thoroughly enjoyed watching his creative approach to his runway collection and REALLY loved his oversized leather bags. I could totally see myself packing one of them for a long weekend in Santa Barbara, Vegas or The Hamptons.
