Fashion’s favorite eccentric, Iris Apfel is coming to MAC! Yes, the stylish 90 year old has a full makeup collection set to launch on January 5th. The line includes a variety of vibrant eye shadows, lipsticks, lip liners, blush, nail polishes, mascara and brow pencils –which all perfectly reflect Apfel’s equally vibrant personality and sense of style. MAC describes the exclusive collection as, “a colour collection inspired by a rare bird who has always been ahead of her time.”  We would have to say Iris has definitely always been ahead of her time. Can’t wait to try out the collection!

The beautiful and eclectic Solange Knowles has been tapped by London based makeup brand, Rimmel London to be the face of their new campaign. She’s definitely a great fit for the brand’s youthful and vibrant aesthetic. The first photos of her campaign shoot have leaked and she looks fab in both bold candy-coated colors and muted mixed shades. Love! Can’t wait to see more from her campaign.

English Fashion Designer, Gareth Pugh, a.k.a. the prince of darkness and goth in fashion has been confirmed on creating his own exclusive collection for MAC. This news comes shortly after the news of the beauty bloggers collaboration that we blogged about last week. Pugh is no stranger to the cosmetic brand giant as MAC’s micronized airbrush foundation in both black and white were used for his hugely popular spring 2010 show. The collection is set to launch globally in November 2011 and will feature various makeup accessories and products in Pugh’s signature color palette of black, white and grey.

What an exciting collaboration for bloggers! Mega makeup/beauty retailer MAC has partnered up with 9 fantastic style/makeup/beauty bloggers to create exclusive lipglass and eyeshadow colors for a limited edition bloggers collection! It’s so nice to see bloggers I frequent often, have met, or follow religiously being involved in a project of this magnitude. Kudos to MAC for recognizing the power of blogging! The MAC Bloggers Obsession Limited Edition Collection will be available online ONLY beginning June 21st! Lipglasses and eyeshadows will both retail at $14.50. I definitely have my eyes on Patrice’s and Wendy’s purple and red lipglass colors and Christine’s green eyeshadow!

Makeup enthusiasts who are always on the go, rejoice! This spring, MAC will be unveiling a limited edition collection of travel makeup sets simply called MAC ‘Packed To Go’. The exclusive collection will be launched in two separate phases. The first phase is already ready for purchase and consists of three themed ‘Look in a Box’ kits. You have the Stylish Girl, the Girl Next Door and the Rocker Chick. The second phase of the collection will be comprised of 11 different MAC ‘Packed To Go’ kits and available beginning in March. You can get your hands on these kits at select airports priced at $40-48 a piece.
