Welcome to a new FFB installment, Fashion Flashback.  In order to look to the future, we must draw from the past.  While it’s vital for any fashion fan to stay on top on the most current ad campaigns, editorials, and runway shows, it’s important to learn how these current trends resurrected themselves from the past.  Remember, fashion is evolutionary.

Every week, we will highlight an editorial, runway show, or ad campaign from the past, and like this time, the not so distant past.  This editorial was shot and published in 2001, yet I can see a number of trends (like the floral crowns, I see you Lana Del Rey) already making a comeback.

Laurel Stovall of It’s Her Factory is a 25 year old model based in LA.  She has appeared in Vogue Italia and WWD, as well as campaigns for Obey and Coach (and more, check out her work here). Laurel’s Tumblr is a candid, honest, yet selected look into her life as a working model, her personal style, and the things she likes, both fashion and non.  Bonus points for all of her Twin Peaks posts!  Oftentimes when it comes to models, we wonder who the person is behind the face and seemingly perfect body.  Laurel reminds us that she is indeed, a real person… A hard working one at that.  I’m excited to see her future work as well her continued musings on the modeling industry.

HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVIES! We made it through another 365 days. Thank you to all our lovely readers for a wonderful 2011! One of our best years to date. But can we say how excited we are about 2012! Hey lovies! It’s officially feeling like fall out! It’s a chilly breezy day today! Please excuse my obsessive use of exclamation points but I’m just thrilled fall is finally here.
