It’s honestly been awhile since supermodel Naomi Campbell has made headlines with an extreme public stunt or controversy. Well, that run has unfortunately came to an halt as Naomi is up in arms regarding the latest ad from Cadbury promoting their new Dairy Milk Bliss bars. The ad which reads, “Move over Naomi, there’s a new Diva in town” features a Cadbury chocolate bar carefully surrounded by beautiful sea of diamonds.

“I’m shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women. It is insulting and hurtful.” – Naomi’s comments on the Cadbury ad

She also went on to tell The Independent Newspaper – “I’m deeply upset by this racist advert. Do these people think they can insult black people and we just take it? This is the 21st century, not the 1950s. Shame on Cadbury.”

Since Naomi’s public remarks regarding the suggestive racist undertone of the ad, Cadbury has responded by pulling the ad, and also released a statement saying, “Cadbury takes its responsibility very seriously indeed and we would never produce any marketing activity we felt might cause offense to any section of society.”

Naomi is planning to take legal action and file a lawsuit against Cadbury and she has also gained the support of British Civil Rights Group Operation Black Vote to boycott Cadbury products.

Sad news — It has been reported today that french model, Isabelle Caro who openly battled with anorexia has passed away at the age of 28. Isabelle garnered global attention in 2007 after being featured in a rather disturbing Italian fashion house ad campaign shot by Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani. She was a mere 5’4″ in height and weighed in last at only 86 pounds. Our condolences go out to Isabelle’s family and close friends during this difficult time.

I must have been under a rock over the past week because I was unaware that the internet has been filled to the brim with rumors that pop star and style maven, Rihanna would collaborate with Topshop on a collection. The rumor buzzed after Rihanna tweeted that she was having dinner with Topshop owner Sir Phillip Green while she was vacationing in Barbados. However, I must report sad news lovies! — According to official reports from WWD – this was 100% a rumor. I must admit, if the rumor did prove to be true, it surely would have done wonders for the brand, sales wise! What are your thoughts? Would you ever buy pieces from a Rihanna x Topshop collaboration?

Carine Roitfeld, Former Editor-in-Chief of Paris Vogue

Lovelies! My heart sank when I read Cathy Horyn’s blog for the NY Times (On The Runway) that beloved editor-in-chief and visionary, Carine Roitfeld was stepping down from French Vogue after 10 years. I’m truly sad to see her go! But I’m anxious to see where she ends up next! She made a very interesting quote to Cathy regarding her decision and I must agree with what she said –

“When everything is good, maybe I think it’s the time to do something else.”

Good news! — Roitfeld mentioned that she plans to continue to work on issues of French Vogue up until March of 2011. I will have to get my hands on these final issues! I’m sure they will be epic pieces of fashion history to add to my collection.

This time last week, if you were like me, you were stalking out Lincoln Center’s online box office at 10am on the dot  to attempt to get your hands on Fashion’s Night Out – The Show tickets — but with no luck. Talk about a serious upset! On the positive side of things, you can imagine my excitement today when I read that CBS.com will now do a hour live broadcast of the show on their website. It’s nowhere near as exciting as physically being in New York and at Lincoln Center but — hey at least I won’t have to fret over what to wear now. To add to my excitement — the super fabulous (friend in my head) Andre Leon Talley, Editor-At-Large of VOGUE and fashion blogger/model Hanneli Mustaparta will host the live webcast. Can’t wait! Make sure you tune online at 7pm EST on September 7th for what I’m sure will be an unforgettable show.

VOGUE’s Very Own | Grace Coddington

The ever-so lovely Grace Coddington is no stranger to the fashion or publishing industry however, she most certainly stole the spotlight in last year’s fashion documentary, The September Issue. It was as if just overnight, she had became the new “it” girl. The red-headed beauty is still riding on the wave of her new found popularity and is now currently working on a tell all autobiography memoir in conjunction with former Men’s VOGUE editor-in-chief and associate, Jay Fielden.

The book will cover Coddington’s early life in Wales, her modeling days in Sixties London, the car accident that changed her career path and her ascendancy through fashion’s ranks as a stylist and editor at British Vogue and, later, its American counterpart.

Twiggy is the latest fashion icon to launch an exclusive line with a home shopping channel.  The former supermodel will be launching Twiggy London, a brand new lifestyle collection on HSN. She follows in the footsteps of other fashion notables including: Iman, Badgley Mischka and Naeem Khan – who have also created successful HSN based brands. Twiggy’s exclusive line will primarily consist of: clothing, footwear and accessories focused around her style and her life. The collection is set to go live on the air on April 3rd. Actress and style star, Zoe Saldana has certainly been making a name for herself over the past year or so in the industry and on the red carpet. It’s been nice to see her evolve right in front of our eyes with her style. With that, it’s come to no surprise that she has been personally selected as Italian fashion house, MaxMara’s “Face of  the Future”. Congrats Zoe!

Kimora Lee Simmons struts down the runway at the Fall 2010 presentation for Heart Truth’s Red Dress Show

Before we had The Hills, The City, Stylista, Launch My Line, Kell on Earth and countless other fashion reality television shows we had Life In The Fab Lane with Kimora Lee Simmons. I simply adored this show during it’s first two seasons. [Don't judge me!] Life in the Fab Lane was one of the first reality shows that offered a glimpse into the fashion industry — and of course, all while showcasing Kimora’s famous my way or no way attitude. Good news! Life In The Fab Lane is officially back after word early last year that the show would no longer air due to Kimora being a nightmare to work with. I wonder what brought about the change of heart? Ratings? Nevertheless, the third season will premiere on March 21st at 9PM on the Style Network. I can’t wait!

Narciso Rodriguez is the latest fashion designer to venture into an e-commerce site by launching his own exclusive online boutique through, ebay. The lower priced, more accessible eight piece collection will be available online beginning February 15th. Sadly, there isn’t too much variety with this collection which consists primarily of jersey knit dresses, a denim dress and reversible coat but at least they will be affordable. You can’t beat that right?
