While we love our Fashion Tumblrs here at FFB, sometimes it’s necessary to venture out to other arenas that tickle our fancy as well. Our current obsession? Nail Art. Sammie aka The Nailasaurus has become one of my latest Tumblr favorites. At just a ripe 21 years of age, Sammie has quite the skill with her nail art designs. She’s has even launched an Etsy shop with her original nail designs for sale. (Clearly I will be purchasing a couple of these very soon) Nail art is back on the radar as of late, and our nails are the latest accessory for us to show off.

Nail art is by no means a new thing (it has been around forever) but like most things, the trend has found a way to reinvent itself. Especially with the recent popularity of nail trends like: Minx, Sally Hansen adhesives, WAH Nails, etc. The options are endless and fun. The biggest nail trends that I am noticing at the moment via the interwebs are: tribal inspired nails, “galaxy” inspired nails and gradient ombré nails — all which Sammie has featured in her latest posts, some even with tutorials. Style maven, mom, fashion designer and newly found TV personality/mentor (Fashion Star) Nicole Richie is featured in GLAMOUR Magazine’s June 2012 Issue looking as gorgeous as ever with beach ready outfits and summer sun kissed blonde hair styled in loose waves and voluminous curls. Featured in the mag’s beauty section, Richie candidly opens up about: her hair grooming tips, being labeled as a trendsetter, how she feels about her body, advice for women starting their own business and much more. Check out excerpts of her interview with Amy Spencer below..

GLAMOUR: Your waves today looked gorgeous. But that’s with pro help. How do you get that look at home?
Nicole Richie: I have naturally curly hair, so “natural” beach waves are not so natural for me. I like to braid my hair at night and then let it out the next day. And I also curl my hair with a flatiron. I actually think I’m the best hairstylist on the planet.

GLAMOUR: Are you serious?
Nicole Richie: Yes, I’m very serious. I’m mixed, and it’s work to do my hair, so I learned how to do it well myself. I would be a hairstylist. I actually like to go to the salon and blow out people’s hair.

GLAMOUR: You went through a period where you were super thin and everyone was commenting on it. Now you have two kids and look awesome. How do you feel about your body?
Nicole Richie: I feel [gets all fake dramatic]…great about my body. [Laughs.] You know, aesthetically I can be picky, but I choose not to. I’ve taken huge leaps. I’m proud of that. I work out, and I get lots of sleep, and so I feel great. And that is most important.

GLAMOUR: We like to think of you as a trendsetter. Do you think of yourself that way?
Nicole Richie: No! [Laughs.] My world is small. I have my circle of 10 friends, my kids, my family. None of them call me a trendsetter.

GLAMOUR: Now you’ve got the Nicole Richie Collection on QVC. Any advice for women starting their own business?
Nicole Richie: Study your craft. Know it well before you jump in. I wait all the time. Because I don’t want to just put my name on something and then release it. What’s the point of that?
