VOGUE’s Very Own | Grace Coddington

The ever-so lovely Grace Coddington is no stranger to the fashion or publishing industry however, she most certainly stole the spotlight in last year’s fashion documentary, The September Issue. It was as if just overnight, she had became the new “it” girl. The red-headed beauty is still riding on the wave of her new found popularity and is now currently working on a tell all autobiography memoir in conjunction with former Men’s VOGUE editor-in-chief and associate, Jay Fielden.

According to WWD -

The book will cover Coddington’s early life in Wales, her modeling days in Sixties London, the car accident that changed her career path and her ascendancy through fashion’s ranks as a stylist and editor at British Vogue and, later, its American counterpart.

As one who enjoys shopping for vintage pieces, it was a joy to receive the mini book, The Little Guide to Vintage Shopping by vintage veteran, Melody Fortier. If you think you know anything about vintage shopping, prepare to be proved wrong after reading this gem. The book is no larger than a CD cover but it packs a lot of information into its 192 pages and nine chapters.  The Little Guide to Vintage Shopping touches on everything you need to know about buying vintage from: ensuring the proper fit and the right silhouette,  distinguishing time period/eras and evaluating quality,  bringing vintage pieces back to life through reconstruction and alterations, how to properly clean, care for and store your vintage items and of course she had to include some of the best vintage shops throughout the country. This was definitely a wonderful read and any existing vintage lover (or new vintage lover) should have this book in your collection!
