New York Fashion Week – Fall 2011: Cocktails & Couture Event

Hey lovelies! Hope all is well. Although the work week is well under way (and half way over, thank goodness), I am still coming down off the high of my weekend in New York City. It was definitely one of my best trips to date. Words simply cannot describe the fantastic time I had. I can’t wait to go back very, very soon. At any rate, I had the pleasure of attending the highly anticipated 2nd annual ‘Cocktails and Couture’ Fashion Week Mixer event hosted by veteran beauty blogger, Lianne Farbes aka The Makeup Girl.  The event was held at the Aveda Lifestyle Salon in Soho and I had such a wonderful time sipping Hpnotiq cocktails, eating delectable finger foods, grooving to the hip hop sounds provided by DJ Belle Du Jour and mingling with the fashionable crowd full of fashion and beauty experts galore!

I also had the chance to put faces to names of many people I follow either via their blog or on Twitter – it was so funny asking people who they are by their twitter/blog name! Ha! Shout out to all the fashion/beauty bloggers I finally met and mingled with – Christina from Love Brown Sugar, Marie Denee from The Curvy Fashionista, Andrea from Stylin n’ Profilin, Nikkia from Silver Lips, Danielle from the Style & Beauty Doctor and The Fashion Bomb, Eileen from Miss Whoever You Are, Chelsea (Clutch Mag fam!), Kia from Yummy 411, Airy (Twitter darling!) and many more that I sure I’m forgetting. This was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend. I can’t wait to attend the next one — and hopefully one day soon, I can put on my own event of this caliber! *Fingers crossed*
