Top Shop To Launch Cosmetics Line

(Top Shop Core Line)

Everyone’s favorite store is launching it’s own cosmetics line. In May, the full lineup is slated to launch in Topshop’s top 30 doors, including its U.S. outpost, and on the retailer’s Web site. The core collection is 97 stockkeeping units strong and is designed to mix whimsical design with bold color. Pencil-like doodles decorate putty-colored packaging and the black outer carton features an illustration of the product inside, designed by Sarah Thorne, Topshop graphic and packaging designer. “It’s playful, almost like the Topshop girl drew it herself,” said Lizzie Dawson, a Topshop designer who led the line’s in-house development. Topshop tapped Intercos to manufacture the products. Topshop plans to augment the core line four to six times a year with the trend range, a collection of about 16 items, that Homer described as, “more adventurous.”

Bloom Lip Gloss: Review

I was lucky enough to review 2 lip glosses to review, and let me just say I love them! They aren’t sticky like other lip glosses, and they kind of act as a chapstick, the natural oils in them really do a good thing for your lips, unlike other lip glosses that make your chapped lips look worse! And they come in these really pretty sheer colors. When I first opened them out of the box (I received Raspberry and Tangerine) my mom was like “Ew I would never wear those awful bright colors”. So I made her try the Raspberry and the color was very sheer and pretty on her. She ended up stealing my lip gloss! Needless to say these colors are very age neutral. But I definitely recommend these for the winter time especially, I know I won’t be without my Tangerine Bloom Lip Gloss any time soon!

A little fun fact: Not only am I a fan of this amazing product, but so is Whitney Port from MTV’s “The City”!

You can click here and grab your own tube of Bloom Lip Gloss ($19)

Fun Fridays

The weekend is approaching, and I’ve decided to start something new up, Fun Fridays! Most of us gear up to go out for the weekend and can’t WAIT for Fridays. So Fridays are going to be dedicated to the glamour girl, keeping it sexy and fun!

So for our first Fun Friday we’re gonna make sure it pops!
A trend we’ve been seeing for awhile is the hot hot hot HOT pink lips, and if you haven’t tried it yet, you better get on it, because this isn’t going anywhere!

If this is your first time, I’d suggest Stila’s Yumberry Crush in light pink. Yumberry is a moisturizing antioxidant in this lip and cheek stain and its fabulous. being that it’s a stain it won’t be as bright for a first timer. ($24)

If you’re more comfortable with color I’d go for Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte in 29 Opera Rose. This creamy lipstick smooths lips with it’s unique color-shine complex. ($34)

OR if you’re REALLY into color and shine, I’d go straight for Make Up For Ever’s Glossy Full Couleur in #4. This gel textured gloss will give you tons of color AND shine! ($19)

Whatever color you choose make sure you don’t kiss any frogs with those pretty lips this weekend!

Midnight Blue Eyeliner

is quickly becoming a hot trend in the make up world. I’m really a fan of potted eyeliner (such as MAC’s fluidline and Bare Escentual’s Buxom Lashliner). The one investment you need to make when venturing into the gel type eyeliner world is a good brush. My personal favorite is MAC’s 210 brush ($17.50), if you prefer a thicker line I’d go for their 209 brush.

The trick to created a cat-eye is to gradually get thicker at the outer corner and wing out towards the ends of your eyebrows. To make it a day look, just shorten the wing! MAC’s fluidline is available in “Waveline” ($15.00) and is so popular it’s sold out online, but I’d check your local stores and counters for it. Bare Escentual’s Buxom Lashliner is available in “Blue Velvet” ($15.00) and is avaliable at Sephora. Blue Velvet has a shimmer to it, so if you’re anti that, I’d stick with MAC. But if you’re a lash addict like myself Bare Escentual’s left a warning for you on Sephora’s website, “Lash addicts beware: Buxom Lashliner is highly habit-forming. This may look like just a liner, but it’s also a thickening and conditioning treatment that instantly takes the appearance of your lashes from hardly any to very many”
