The Juice: CBS.com Live Webcast of Fashion’s Night Out Fashion Show

This time last week, if you were like me, you were stalking out Lincoln Center’s online box office at 10am on the dot  to attempt to get your hands on Fashion’s Night Out – The Show tickets — but with no luck. Talk about a serious upset! On the positive side of things, you can imagine my excitement today when I read that CBS.com will now do a hour live broadcast of the show on their website. It’s nowhere near as exciting as physically being in New York and at Lincoln Center but — hey at least I won’t have to fret over what to wear now. To add to my excitement — the super fabulous (friend in my head) Andre Leon Talley, Editor-At-Large of VOGUE and fashion blogger/model Hanneli Mustaparta will host the live webcast. Can’t wait! Make sure you tune online at 7pm EST on September 7th for what I’m sure will be an unforgettable show.

Random: Dreaming of a New York City Summer

Hey lovies! Sorry for the sporadic posting — blame it on finals! I’m so glad this semester is almost over. May is here already! Can you believe it? I can’t – but that means summer is just around the corner. We’ve already been feeling the heatwave over the past couple of weeks. Now, with the summertime, comes NEW YORK CITY for me. I just love visiting the Big Apple in the summer, it’s the absolute best! This will be my third summer and it seems like it’s going to be the best yet. I have a few events on my agenda + a few people to see!  Stay tuned — the Canon is going with me. xo — Where are you going this summer, lovelies? Any big plans?

Major Bite: American Woman Exhibit + Metropolitan Museum of Art

“American Woman” Exhibit + Metropolitan Museum of Art

This year’s presentation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is entitled,  American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. The exhibition, sponsored by GAP and Conde Nast will run from May 5, 2010 to August 15, 2010 and will utilize resources of the newly established Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection at the Met. The American Woman exhibit will take a closer look at American women from 1890-1940 and how these women have influenced our interpretation of the modern woman. Gibson Girls, Bohemians and Screen Sirens are just a  few of the categories that are featured within this style evolution. I’m planning to add the Met to my list of stops this summer in New York City!
