New York Fashion Week Spring 2011: Pamella Roland

Pamella Roland held her first ever fashion week presentation on September 14, 2010 off site at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Praised for her red carpet confections, Roland delivered a Grecian inspired collection of glamorous gowns, shifts and cocktail dresses and silk separates. Fabrications ranged from brocade, chiffon, to textured metallics. Many garments were also full of embellished details. Like several other collections to show during New York Fashion Week, there was an abundance of nudes and off whites on display.

Mediterranean blue, tangerine, and coral hues in solid and printed variations were splattered across floor grazing gowns, ruched minis and blouses.
Many attendees centered in on this gorgeous strapless, mermaid gown..
Roland favored asymmetrical silhouettes. My particular favorite was a silver one shouldered embellished cocktail dress with slit. A girl should always shine.
To round out her collection Roland featured draped gowns, more asymmetry, mesh front dresses, and dramatic floor length coat and blouse in metallic/embellished blacks.
The unlimited champagne, desserts, “No Ordinary Love” by Sade playing softly in the background, coupled with beautiful people and a stunning collection made this intimate presentation all the more alluring. Pamella Roland’s S/S 2011 collection exudes femininity while remaining fun and flirty, dressing every woman from day to night.
