I always enjoy watching miniature films that designers put out from time to time. They’re normally cute and quite entertaining. The latest in this venture is the lovely, Rachel Roy who presents, “Miroir Mirror’ showcasing the spring 2010 collection from her younger brand, Rachel Rachel Roy. Here’s a brief description of the concept of the video:

Miroir Mirror follows a young woman who exists in a world that lacks color and inspiration. She is able to discover a world of whimsy and fun through fashion and explores different facets of her personality through her clothing. Venturing out into the world, she sees it through different eyes, full of color and wonder. As she concludes her journey she encounters a sign that says ‘Stop Worrying,’ which signifies something different to everyone. Essentially, it means that we should stop worrying about what others think and express ourselves however we feel. We should live life. – Rachel Roy

After today’s chilling temperatures, I think it is safe to say that fall has finally fallen upon us. [At least for those on the East Coast] I honestly couldn’t be any more thrilled. There are so many great looks that I am itching to try this season and I’ve slowly been on the path of reconstructing my closet for new essentials and staple pieces. To aid in that effort, I have had a close eye on several designer collections both big and small. One that I am perfectly excited about is the Rachel Rachel Roy collection.  Rachel Roy has truly been on my radar for the past three seasons. without any disappointment thus far. With this fall collection, It’s accurate to say that Rachel has definitely set the current standard of what a diffusion line should look like. The line is full of boyfriend cut blazers, zippered tunics, patterned denim and dresses and oversized cardigans. I’m loving it all. The Rachel Rachel Roy collection launchd at Macy’s & RachelRoy.com back in August but she is set to release more clothing and accessories in October and November!

Right on the heels of the Rachel Rachel Roy collection being shipped to Macy’s stores nationwide in the upcoming weeks, lovely designer Rachel Roy will now host a pop up shop in Soho [111 Spring Street] for a limited time beginning on September 10th. Perfect timing – as that is the same date that the Spring 2010 season of New York Fashion Week begins.

WWD- The 1,800-square-foot space will house the entire collection of Rachel Rachel Roy merchandise ranging from contemporary sportswear and dresses to footwear, jewelry and handbags. The store, which will only remain open for about 10 days — or until all merchandise is sold out — is a preview of what’s to come from the designer, who plans to open pop-up shops in others cities following New York.

Rachel said the store will provide a snapshot into her point of view and will convey the full message of what the Rachel Rachel Roy brand is about.

“Having your own store is the only medium through which you get to tell your story to the customer in its complete essence,” Roy said. “I absolutely hope to have my own store one day, and to me, launching the Rachel Rachel Roy pop-up store is the most appropriate first step in that path.”

PS – Rachel said she plans to be in the store regularly to work with customers. How fab! I just may have to make a stop through in that case.
