Major Bite: ASOS Spring Indie Collection

ASOS why oh why do you tease me so? In my usual online weekend shopping adventures, I was face to face with a new and exciting collection from ASOS simply entitled the Indie Collection. The collection is compiled of tailored blazers [definitely a must have at this point], floral dresses, harem pants and jumpsuits [what's spring without floral print?] stripes and much more. I’ve noticed in various sources that stripes + floral is shaping up to be a top look for spring/summer. I’m anxious to try that look.

Major Bite: JCrew Spring ’09 Lookbook

jcrew

I must admit darlings that I’ve never particularly paid attention to JCrew in the past. I’ve always for some reason gotten the snobby preppy vibe from them. Maybe I was wrong in doing so. But their new Spring Collection is an indication that it is the opposite of that — and I am SOLD.  The theme for this collection was fusing fashion with art. Nothing new to the forefront, — but the execution is fresh and highly wearable.

I already have my fashion third eye on the tiered yellow skirt, the teal and gold  printed blouse with the gorgeous floral neck  embellishment & the khaki blazer with the ruffle detail around the lapel. The goal for this Spring Collection was to “mix bold vibrant hues with romantic silhouettes and softer muted pastels.“  I would say, that they achieved that goal without a hitch. The items shown below will be arriving at JCrew sometime in between February- April.  So stay glued to their website & your local JCrew store for releases.

Designer Dish: Serguei Povaguin

sp

Serguei Povaguin is an amazing Russian designer that I’ve come to love after viewing his S/S ’09 collection — which was shown at Paris Fashion Week & Madrid Fashion Week. Serguei moved to Barcelona as teenager and went on to study at  ESDI (Escuela Superior de Diseno) where he received a degree in Fashion & Textile Design. He also graduated from the University of Southhampton.

Serguei began pursuing the fashion industry full force in the summer of 2002, where his first project “I love Spain” won him the ModaFad Pure White Award for the Best Collection. He went on to present collections at London Graduates Week, the Berliner Durcheise Preview and the Genial Fashion STIB all in 2004.

It wasn’t until 2007 that Serguei decided that it was time to build his own brand. He hasn’t slowed down since. For his third collection for S/S ’09, Serguei stayed neutral with a color palette consisting of: basic black, a hint of grey, deep royal blues and soft peach. The collection also included a unique & fresh take on accessories with the use of designer scarves from the likes of: Hermes, Balmain and Dior. Love, love, love.

Major Bite: Bebe Spring ’09 AD Campaign

Lovies– can I say how much I adore the new Bebe Spring ’09 AD Campaign? It’s definitely high fashion worthy and it slightly reminds me of the faded look in the D&G ads this season with the whole garden in bloom & nature montage.  Nevertheless, the tan colored feather trim skirt (shown above) is gorgeous. This is just one of the many stylish pieces you can look forward to for the Spring.

Sidebar: Bebe is currently offering a cute tote bag with every accessory purchase. Gotta love perks. Click here for more details. xo
